For our very first project, just a few weeks into the program, we were assigned to create a room inspired by a famous artwork. The goal was to reinterpret the painting in a new and creative way by building a 3D scene using various props and elements incorporating a piece of furniture as the hero of the scene. In my case, the hero became the green sofa. After rendering the scene in 3D, we used Photoshop for post-production to enhance the final image—adjusting contrast, depth, and overall mood.

Project duration: 2 weeks
Software used: 3ds Max rendered with Corona & postproduction in Photoshop

The artwork I chose is titled A Section of The Claudian Aqueduct, Rome by the French artist André Giroux, which I discovered through The Met Museum. The scene I created was built around a green sofa, which became the hero piece of the composition.
At the time, I found the assignment quite challenging. It has now been six months since I completed this project, and I’ve grown both as a person and as a 3D artist. Today, I would love to take on more projects like this one,  for fun and to continue challenging my creative thinking.
